You would all be aware of the fire on Moreton after Christmas. Although there were some things that werent handled very well in the beginning, I was surprised at how customer friendly National Parks were. In times gone by, National parks would have most likely evacuated the Island. Instead, they moved campers to different areas and let them stay on the Island. They also let people who had already booked, still travel to the Island. I like to give credit where it's due and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Who would believe that a few days ago it was hot steamy and the fire was still burning. The heavy rains will ensure the foliage grows back quickly and we will see those beautiful green shoots - You have to admire nature's ways.
