Imagine the MICAT going into Manly harbour....This picture is of the Moreton Venture leaving Manly with the South Queensland Amateur Fishing Club on board, ready for a big weekend of fishing on the ocean beach. The young girl with the big mop of hair is waiting to climb onto the top of the winch deck so that I could lock the door pins.

Of course today, the door pins are automatic, we don't drive the boat around with the door down and we can't leave from Manly boat harbour.
The down side of that is the costs of running our own facility on the mainland and what that does to effect pricing to Moreton Island.
The privatisation of the Port of Brisbane has made it even worse, because of course they are increasing the price of everything at the Port, even to the extent of charging us to fuel our own boat. I normally try to make my blogs positive, but it is difficult when we are trying to keep our prices down and the Carbon tax, Port charges and lease fees are making it near impossible.
