Tangalooma Wrecks

The Tangalooma Wrecks just north of the resort, have been sunk offshore to give shelter for a boat anchorage. Among the hulks are vessels which have seen service in Moreton Bay - the German built "Remora", the dredges "Maryborough" and "Platypus", the barges "Stingaree" "Seal" and "Morwong" and the whale chaser "KOS 1".

The last of the wrecks - the Harbours and Marine dredge "Echeneis" was positioned in 1984.

Should you decide to swim or snorkel in the area please take care. Strong currents may occur & boats frequent the area.
