MiCat has gone green in 2008

The Hawkins Family Group has put into place a number of measures to ensure that we operate our business in an environmentally friendly manner. These include initiatives such as the installation of number of large water tanks in our Brisbane Depot as well as the construction of Port Wash – a Truck and 4WD/Car Wash which operates using only recycled water.

We are very proud to announce that MiCat has also gone green with the exciting installation of our own desalination plant onboard. All of the water we use in the engine rooms, the kitchen and bathrooms, and the water we use to keep our decks clean, is being taken from the sea and processed whilst we are travelling along, saving thousands of litres of town water each year.

In addition to this, we have stopped using paper hand towels in our bathrooms, instead installing hand dryers for our guests comfort as well as providing additional bins within our Café area for the collection of rubbish that can be recycled.
